Unbeaten Ibeju 1 books semi-final place in Gtassur 20/20 tournament

Ibadan Metopolitan Cricket Club's fairy tale run in this year's Gtassur 20/20 competition came to an end on Saturday at the T.B.S Oval when Ibeju 1 who are yet to loose a game in eleven matches won by 114 runs to book their place in the semi-final.
The Ibadan based team won the toss and put the champions of the regular season to bat first as they scored 184 runs for loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs with the opening pair of Femi Solebo & Olympio Olugbon top scoring with 58 runs & 51 runs respectively while Oyede Leke had 21 runs not out.Obazenu Dioru's 2 wickets for IMCC was not enough to stop the in-form Ibeju 1 from displaying their depth in batting.
Superb bowling from the Yemi Amusa led side in the second innings ensured their opponent recorded a paltry 70 runs with Olympio Seye leading the assault with his 3 wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs while the duo of Ogunlola Joshua and Oyede Leke took 2 wickets each.
Ibeju 1 having secured a semi-final place will now wait for the winner between indo-pakistan and rocks of Abeokuta.

Defending champion of the gtassur 20/20 tournament gciobcc defeated ibeju lekki 2 by 9 wickets at the prestigious Tafawa Balewa cricket oval to book their place in the semi-final.
The Ibadan-based side won the toss and choose to field first with the second division side once again taught a cricket lesson when gciobcc bowlers rattled them with skipper Odeku Seun leading the assault with 3 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs,Odedele Gbenga also re-ignited his good old days in bowling as he took 3 wickets for 13 runs in 2 overs while pace bowler Iteogu Chibike accounted for 2 wickets with Ibeju 2 reduced to 92 runs for all wickets lost in 20 overs.Varun Behami top scored for the division 2 side by posting 28 runs.
Great batting from Indian import Gill Ramit(36 runs not out) alongside his fellow opening batman Olayinka Segun 25 runs accounted for the 93 runs with 1 wicket lost in 14.3 overs while Otegbeye Lumumba's 1 wicket for 20 runs in 4 overs was the pick of the bowling for Ibeju 2.
Gciobcc are now waiting for the winner between Lagos Asians Cricket club and Federal Government College Warri old boys.
